Terminal Overview
Duraport occupies approximately 18 acres of fully paved terminal property and features approximately 816 linear feet of bulkhead, with a depth of 38 feet MLW (Mean Low Water). The facility is configured to support direct transfers between vessel, barge, rail, and truck, enabling cargo to be received, staged, stored, and transshipped with limited intermediate handling.
Terminal infrastructure includes deep-water berth access, high load-bearing yard areas adjacent to the bulkhead, terminal-owned rail infrastructure, warehousing, and specialized equipment supporting bulk materials, breakbulk, heavy-lift, and project cargo operations.
Duraport is centrally located on the Kill Van Kull, a strategic waterway linking Port Newark, Port Elizabeth, and the greater New York Harbor. This location provides immediate, access to the core New York City market and maritime trade lanes while maintaining direct connectivity to regional rail networks and major trucking corridors serving the greater Northeast.
As a privately owned terminal with integrated marine, rail, yard, and landside capabilities, Duraport offers a high degree of operational flexibility to support complex cargo movements, infrastructure projects, and specialized logistics requirements. Its position within the harbor, combined with multimodal access and scalable terminal infrastructure, enables Duraport to function as a critical logistics platform for customers operating across regional, domestic, and international markets.
Duraport operates with a strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance. Terminal operations are conducted under established safety protocols and applicable maritime, environmental, and security standards, with an emphasis on protecting personnel, cargo, and the surrounding harbor environment. Sustainability considerations are integrated into terminal operations through responsible material handling practices, efficient use of infrastructure, and coordination with customers and regulatory agencies to support long-term, resilient port operations.
Location
The terminal is located centrally on the Kill Van Kull, a strategic waterway between the borders of New York and New Jersey, which serves an integral role as a maritime route between Port Newark, Port Elizabeth, and the greater New York Harbor.
